Mmmm…fresh baked goodness…

We have made it our Thursday morning routine to go to Bach’s Bakery. Bach’s Bakery is owned by a lovely German couple. They came to China to work with the deaf community (so not only are they fluent in Chinese, they are fluent in CSL!) and the husband decided to focus more on running a bakery. They make it a point to hire deaf employees and give them jobs and teach them the art of Western baking.

They are a great couple and we ex-pats are sooo lucky to have their fresh baked breads, cookies, pies, cakes, and so much more! I am addicted to their banana nut bread, and I don’t even like banana nut bread in the States! They even provide breads to many of the local restaurants who are looking to add authentic Western breads to their meals. Their baking days are Thursdays and Sundays and the bakery just smells so amazing when you walk in the door. We love them and are really grateful they have set up shop here.
