This weekend was the 2012 Cosplay Expo here in Changsha at the San He Hotel Exhibition Center. Apparently this is an annual event held just after the kids get out of school for the summer. But we also found out that Hunan University had a Cosplay Convention at the end of April, and that is also a yearly event. We are going to keep our eyes and ears open for information next year so we can get the information out sooner so hopefully more foreigners can go.
The event was small and hot, but it was fun just to see people dressed up and get pictures. Seth and I were the only foreigners there, so everyone wanted to get our pictures. Next year, we would really like to set up a booth of something to sell and just let people take their pics with us all day, haha.
We didn’t actually have any cosplay outfits to wear. There is a seamstress in town who specializes in cosplay work, though. So we will probably go to her and get some done for next year.
